Tasting Notes:

This is the fifth Merryvale vineyard-designated bottling from low-yielding Clone Six vines in the Beckstoffer family’s Vineyard Georges III in Rutherford. The wine is very dark purple, rich and round with good density. This vineyard consistently shows fine texture and supple, balanced tannins.

From a small block of low yielding vines in the Beckstoffer family's historic Vineyard Georges III comes a wine of intense expression, opulent layers and sensuously velvety tannins.

Production Notes:

32 days on the skins; native yeast fermentation with gentle pump-overs; 18 months in 100% new Demptos French oak Bordeaux chateau ferre barrels--50% medium toast, 50% medium-plus toast; bottled unfiltered.
