Our ’07 Silhouette has elegant aromas of fresh pear, minerals, baked apple, almond and lemon curd along with exotic spices, including cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla bean. The mouthfeel is broad, but with excellent focus and refreshing acidity and follows through with a very long, clean finish.
Silhouette is Merryvale’s limited production, top white wine and contains the best of the best Napa Valley and Carneros Chardonnay fruit, including grapes from our Stanly Ranch Estate Vineyard and the famed Hyde Vineyard.
Double-sorted and whole cluster pressed; 100% fermented in French oak barrels; 100% malolactic fermentation; bottled unfiltered.
The 2007 vintage was one of the best in recent memory. After a normal bud break, the valley experienced mild weather through the growing season with a slightly cooler summer and warm September. This climate resulted in slow, even ripening with a crop just slightly smaller than normal, and the highly desired small berry size. Winemakers across the valley are very excited about the 2007 vintage.
